The first edition of a new book on the Bugatti type 57S by Bernhard Simon and Julius Kruta is now available. It is beautifully printed on 150g/qm art paper, has pictures in satin finish, sewn binding and linen tissue cover with relief printing. The standard edition is limited to a 1000 unnumbered copies. It has 306 pages, 110 pages of text, 360 pictures, among them 238 old period pictures, 137 of them previously unpublished. Full page professional colour pictures by Martyn Goodard, Rune Baashus, Günther Krause, Winston Goodfellow, Michel Zumbrunn and H. D. Seufert. Reproductions of unpublished works drawings and documents and a set of reproductions of paintings by Paul Bouvot. The book is professionally translated into English from the German script and is based on nearly two decades of research which includes the works documents which have now been made available and reports of present owners and pre-owners. The book has been written in two parts. The first covers a description of the precursors of the Bugatti 57S type, the prototypes, works cars and racing cars. The second part has the history of each production car, including period and recent pictures. In the Appendix there are datasheets covering all the cars.
