Designer Chuck Queener has been interested in Ferraris from the age of 12. He attended Art Center School (Art Center College of Design), became an instructor at the Jim Russell International Racing Drivers School and while living in Santa Monica, California he met his hero Phil Hill. In 1971 he became president of The Ferrari Owners Club. He later met John Lamm while they both worked for Motor Trend magazine. Queener then moved on to Road & Track, soon to be followed by Lamm. Queener migrated to New York in 1978 to found Cavallino, The Ferrari Enthusiasts Magazine. Several years later he helped develop Rosso Ferrari for Ferrari North America and in 1997 he and Lamm teamed up to produce a lavish magazine honoring Ferrari¹s 50th anniversary. During his years at R&T he worked closely with Dean Batchelor and in the late 1970s designed several books on Ferrari and Porsche for Mr. Batchelor. He is currently a contributing artist at R&T and
lives in Stamford, CT with his wife Beth. Between them they have five
grandchildren. Both of his daughters are Art Center grads. |
