The Allard Motor Company archives are a particularly rich resource for those investigating its history and its influence on the British motor industry. The records cover the years of operation of the car manufacturer 1946-1958 and have been scanned and included in this book along with many previously unseen official photographs, documents, and correspondence.

Supported by an easy-to-use reference spreadsheet, an Allard owner is invited to open to the pages where their car is featured, and a casual observer can learn about the indelible impact this small British car manufacturer made on motoring history.

Author, Gavin Allard the grandson of Sydney Allard, the man who led the company into post-war Britain and beyond, details the people that built the cars, the dealerships that sold them and their customers.

3 of 5 Not the type of book that you are expecting July 11, 2023

Buyers must be aware that this is a very special book. It´s not the history of Allard that I had exepcted but a huge collection of still existing factory data for every vehicle that Allard has built. This is complemented by pictures of these cars. Most of them had not been published before. You will either like the book or loathe it.

If you are an Allard enthusiast, there are two books you must have in your library. The first is Tom Lush's, "ALLARD, The Inside Story" the incomparable written history of Allard from Sydney's right hand man. The second is now Gavin Allard's "Allard Motor Company: The Records and Beyond" which is now the incomparable visual history Allard from Sydney's grandson.

This two volume set is nothing short of spectacular -- an in depth history like no other. The research detail -- works production and service records, copies of advertising, road tests, spectacular photographs etc. Make these cannot-put down books. We are fortunate the Allard factory records have been preserved in the Allard family an that Sydney's Grandson Gavin was willing to put hundreds of hours into this work of love.
