A Century of Concours d'Elegance
by Daniel Cabart, Denis Cohignac, Patrick Rollet and Gautam Sen

BOOKS AVAILABLE WORLDWIDE

Beginning in France in the 1920s, elegant exhibitions of the latest designs from carmakers, chassis builders, and coachbuilders evolved over more than a century into a celebration of historic vehicles. Today, these events reflect global admiration for classic cars, viewed as treasured artifacts worthy of preservation, conservation, or restoration, and showcased as part of humanity’s industrial heritage.

This book celebrates this evolution, exploring the origins of the earliest concours d’elegance and how the tradition expanded to feature women, fashion, and lifestyle. It also examines how the concept was reimagined in the New World, transforming into a festival that honors both the exceptional and the unconventional, and creating a fresh style and new purpose.

Presents a fair overview of concurs history with good photographic coverage. Missed the pairing of fashions with specific automobiles at Meadow Brook Concours, germane to the subject. Some photos need identification of auto(s) featured. The discussion of concours development is rational but not aimed at the viewer but at the connoisseur. Up to date and with a good view to the future. Good value.

I ordered an English edition of this book but received a French edition in error.  I contacted the emailed the address on the correspondence on 29/05/26 but have yet to receive any response.  To say I am unimpressed is a gross understatement. I am very disappointed as  I have a number of your books and always find them of high quality. If receive any response I will contact PayPal to see if they can get any response
