.......Astonishingly, Harman has exceeded every expectation..............
"This two-volume, 840 page monster even comes in its own carry-case with pop-out handle and weighs enough to make your arms ache. What Harman has attempted is a combined Briggs Swift Cunningham II biography, a history of his racing team, an in-depth profile of the Cunningham road cars including a chassis-by-chassis history, a race-by-race chronology of Cunningham's motor sport career as both team manager and driver, and a catalogue of all the cars Cunningham kept in his collection. Astonishingly, Harman has exceeded every expectation. Illustrated with many previously-unseen photographs. It's hard to think of anything you wouldn't want to know about Cunningham that isn't contained within its hefty covers. SD"

By studying military conflict, this book traces the story of the African American quest for freedom and liberty from the days of the Revolutionary War to the 21st Century. It follows the earliest struggle for liberty from slavery, when some 200,000 African American slaves and free men fought on both sides in return for the promise of freedom. Some, but pitifully few, did achieve their freedom, though most returned to the lot that had been dealt to them by their owners and the abolition of slavery did not give them equality. The Spanish American War was followed twenty years later by the “Great War” – the war to end all wars, where over three hundred African American soldiers were awarded the Croix de Guerre, France’s highest award for valor, yet only one was awarded the Medal of Honor by the United States – seventy-three years after his death on the battlefield.

The cars were strong and successful contenders in the 2-liter class and were actively raced in the Italian GT Championship in the second half of the 1950s, winning their class in 1956 and 1959. The cars also participated in legendary races like the Mille Miglia, Targa Florio and Giro d`Sicilia.
